Movies 🎥🎥🎥

I wouldn't say that I'm a movie snob by any means, but I do enjoy watching new and obscure movies. My favorite genre is scary/horror/thriller, so I'm not one of those indie movie crazies who needs everything that I view to be lowkey or have a separate meaning. I just enjoy watching things that make my heart race, make me feel, or make me think. Honestly, this can apply to any genre; my comfort TV show happens to be Family Guy (I've been watching since I was a child, lol), and the dialogue in that show is so far from what you could classify as classy.

So along with my reading goal, I would like to watch more movies. I used to make films my whole personality, but as I got busier and busier being able to sit, watch, and digest the contents of a film, I put them to the sidelines. Like books, movies can teach and help you understand vocabulary better as well. The same ideas that I applied to reading also apply to watching films. I don't have a goal to watch 100 movies this year or anything like my book goal, but I would like to be intentional about going out and seeing a movie or settling in and really paying attention to a movie.

This month (January), I went to the movie theater and saw Night Swim and I wasn't extremely pleased, but I also enjoyed myself! The idea of going out, getting a drink, and enjoying a new movie was very nice. So I'd like to go to the movie theater at least once a month and enjoy myself, alone.

I do have a Letterboxd account and the idea is that I will update it as I watch more and more movies and also rewatch some of my favorites and rate those as well!
